Web design and development

Most websites look
like a business.
Few of them work like one.

A site nobody finds and nobody converts on is not an asset, it is a running cost. We build web design and development, web applications, funnels and landing pages that load fast, rank, and turn the right visitors into enquiries.

WEB-01 The asset

Your website is your most important salesperson.

Before anyone speaks to your team, they have been on your site. They have formed a view on whether you look credible, whether you understand their problem, and in most cases whether they are going to contact you at all. That decision is made long before a form is filled in.

So the site is not a brochure. It is an active part of the sales process running at three in the morning without supervision. Working well, it builds trust, answers the obvious objections, filters out the enquiries you do not want and makes it easy for the ones you do. Working badly, it loses you business quietly, every day, with no way of telling you it happened.

Speed matters more than most businesses expect. A site that takes several seconds to appear loses a meaningful share of visitors before they have seen a single word, and search engines factor page performance into rankings, so a slow site costs you twice: once in the visitors you paid to send and once in the visitors you never got.

WEB-02 Fault analysis

What usually brings a business to this page.

Rarely a desire for a new website. Almost always one of these, which a new website happens to be the fix for.

  • FLT-01The site looks dated and no longer represents the quality of the work you actually do.
  • FLT-02Traffic arrives, nobody fills in the form, and nobody can tell you why.
  • FLT-03Pages load slowly enough that visitors leave before your offer appears.
  • FLT-04It was built years ago and has never been structured for search or built properly for mobile.
  • FLT-05You are paying for ads that land on a page never designed to convert the click.
  • FLT-06Core processes still run on spreadsheets and manual workarounds that stopped scaling a while ago.
  • FLT-07A previous developer delivered something technically functional that nobody can use or edit.

This is usually the cheapest place to find growth, because most businesses are paying to send traffic to a site that was never built to receive it. Improving what happens after the click often costs less than buying more clicks, and it makes every other channel you run worth more at the same spend.

WEB-03 Build tracks

Three different builds, three different problems.

A marketing site, a web application and a design engagement are not versions of the same project. Picking the wrong one is the most expensive decision in this part of the stack, so we scope it before anyone quotes anything.

SIT / 04Track 01

Marketing websites

The site your buyers land on from search, ads and referrals. Built to rank, load fast and turn the right visitor into an enquiry.

OutputEnquiries
APP / 04Track 02

Web applications

Software, not pages. Client portals, internal tools, booking systems and products, built when nothing off the shelf fits the process.

OutputWorking software
UXD / 04Track 03

Funnels and UX design

Landing pages built for one campaign, and UX and UI work on products where users are dropping out at a point nobody has identified.

WEB-04 Websites

Built to rank, load fast and convert.

Before a single page is designed we establish who the audience is, who you are competing against, and what action a visitor needs to take. Every decision after that answers to those three things, which is what separates a site that is strategically structured from one that is merely attractive.

  • SIT-01

A custom build, not a template

WordPress, built around your goals and your content rather than bent to fit a theme someone else designed for a different business. You can edit it without calling us, and you own it outright.

  • SIT-02

    Mobile-first

Most of your traffic arrives on a phone, so the phone layout is designed first and the desktop follows. Every device and screen size tested before launch, not after someone complains.

  • SIT-03

    Speed as a requirement

Performance is a constraint on the build from the first day rather than an optimisation pass at the end. Retrofitting speed into a finished site is always more expensive than designing for it.

  • SIT-04

    Search architecture from launch

Page structure, internal linking, headings and schema configured correctly before go-live, so the site has the strongest starting position search engine optimization can build on. See SEO and local SEO for the ongoing side.

  • SIT-05

    Wired into where leads go

Contact forms, booking integrations and CRM connections set up as part of the build, so an enquiry lands somewhere a person will see it quickly rather than in an inbox nobody owns.

  • SIT-06

    Revisions and support included

Revision rounds are part of the project, not a change request. Thirty days of post-launch support afterwards while the site settles, with ongoing maintenance available separately if you want it.

WEB-05 Applications

Sometimes a website is not the right answer.

If you are replacing manual processes with software, building a client portal, or launching a product, you need a web application built by people who read the business logic as carefully as the code. That is a different engagement with a different shape.

The usual way these projects fail is starting with the technology before the problem is properly understood. We start at the other end. Before any development begins we document what the application has to do, who is using it and under what pressure, what it integrates with, and what success looks like in a sentence somebody can check later. Applications built on that hold up. Applications built without it get rewritten within a year.

APP-01

Scoping and discovery

Documented requirements, user roles and success criteria before a line of code exists. This is where the money is saved.

APP-02

Design around real users

Custom UX and UI built for the people who will be in the tool daily, not for a demo audience seeing it once.

APP-03

Full-stack build

Development with API integrations into the tools you already run, plus admin panels and multi-role user management.

APP-04

QA and handover

Full testing before launch and thirty days of post-launch support, with documentation written for whoever maintains it next.

The same discipline covers funnels and landing pages, and UX and UI work on products that already exist. If users drop out at a specific point and nobody knows why, that is an audit question first, a design question second, and a development question last. We produce user flows, wireframes and full UI design, an interactive prototype for testing and sign-off, and a design system with handoff documentation your developers can actually build from. Landing pages are built the same way, one page to one campaign, matching what the ad promised so the click has somewhere sensible to land.

WEB-06 Project shape

How a build actually runs.

No discovery theatre and no six-week onboarding before anything is drawn. A standard five to ten page website typically runs four to six weeks from scoping call to launch. Larger builds are scoped individually, and you get the timeline before the project starts rather than after it slips.

01 Week 1

Scope

Audience, competitors, the action a visitor needs to take, the page structure that supports it, and what the site has to integrate with. Written down and agreed.

02 Weeks 2 to 3

Design

Layouts for the pages that carry the load, mobile first. Revision rounds happen here, while changes are cheap and nothing has been built yet.

03 Weeks 3 to 5

Build

Development, content, search architecture, speed work, forms and CRM connections. Existing content migrated and search history preserved where the old site allows it.

04 Week 6

Launch and watch

Testing across devices, redirects checked, tracking verified, then go-live. Thirty days of post-launch support while real traffic finds the edges.

Redesigns follow the same shape with one extra concern: not throwing away what the old site had already earned. We migrate the content, map the redirects and preserve ranking history where the existing structure permits it, because a rebuild that loses your positions is a step backwards with an invoice.

WEB-07 Questions

Before you commission anything.

The answers we give on the call, written down so you can compare them to anyone else's.

Q-01How long does a website project take?
A standard five to ten page site usually runs four to six weeks from the scoping call to launch. Larger or more complex builds are scoped individually and the timeline is confirmed before work starts. The part that slows projects down is almost never the development, it is content and approvals, so we agree who supplies what and by when during scoping.
Q-02Do you only build on WordPress?
WordPress is our default for marketing websites because it is flexible, it handles search architecture well, and your team can edit it without a developer. For web applications we choose the stack that fits the requirements, since a portal or an internal tool has different constraints from a set of marketing pages and should not be forced into a content management system.
Q-03Will the site rank on Google once you build it?
We build the search architecture in from launch, which gives you the strongest possible starting position. That is not the same as ranking. Positions are won over months through content and authority, which is ongoing search engine optimization work rather than part of a build. Anyone promising rankings as part of a website quote is selling you something they cannot deliver.
Q-04Can you redesign my existing site rather than start from scratch?
Yes, and a good share of our projects are exactly that. We migrate the existing content, map redirects carefully and preserve your search history where the current structure allows it, then rebuild on a stronger foundation. Where the old site has genuine ranking equity, protecting it is part of the brief, not an afterthought.
Q-05What happens after launch?
Thirty days of post-launch support included, during which we monitor for technical issues and fix anything that surfaces once real traffic arrives. After that, ongoing maintenance is available as a separate retainer, priced on the size of the site. If we are also running your SEO or Google Ads, the site stays under the same team rather than being handed over a gap.
